Parrot Key To Key West Tropical Forest & Botanical Garden
Take your first jog out of The Parrot Key Hotel & Villas to a vibrant nearby attraction at The Key West Tropical Forest & Botanical Garden. The run itself is manageable for most at just two-miles along the northern coast of the island. This scenic route puts you on the calm water all the way to your destination, with a crossing of the Overseas Highway right at the end.
Once you get to the Key West Tropical Forest & Botanical Garden, your explorations can continue along a series of thematic walking trails. The arboretum and botanical garden is a frost-free site with a brilliant world of trees, shrubs, and palms throughout. You can get lost in here for hours before heading back on the road for the two- mile return to the hotel.

Parrot Key To Southernmost Point
It’s always smart to prepare some nice anecdotes to tell friends and family after you take a trip. So, why not give yourself the chance to talk about how you ran to the Southernmost Point of the Continental United States? Starting at The Parrot Key Hotel & Villas, you can take a moderate route that cuts across the island direct to the popular tourist attraction in just over two miles.
For those who want to really push themselves, and experience a near full-circle look at the island, you can run north and then south around Key West. Along this seven-plus mile route, you’ll pass a number of attractions including Thompson Island, Monroe County Parks & Beaches, as well as Smathers and Higgs beaches.

Parrot Key To Smathers Beach
In a similar manner to the route of Parrot Key to Southernmost Point, you can also jog to the beautiful shores of Smathers Beach by either cutting through the island, or going around. The shorter of the two is exactly two miles, and it will take you past the scenic and coastal Key West Nature Preserve, if you’re looking to explore more. The loop is a bit shorter than going all the way to The Southernmost Point, stopping at Smathers around five miles from the hotel property.
Once you arrive at Smathers Beach, you can relax on some white sand while soaking up that strong tropical sun. This is the largest public beach in Key West and it runs for just a half-mile long, so it’s a really great location to kick back among locals. If you’re looking for even more exercise, there are volleyball courts here as well.
