Where to See Live Music in Key West

There always seems to be music playing in Key West. Across a wide range of bars on and around Duval Street, there is a steady stream of traveling acts and more traditional venues beyond, this island city welcomes more live tunes than your average destination. It’s also home to a few larger venues that host bigger-name acts and festivals.

Little Room Jazz Club

One of the more intimate listening rooms on Duval Street, this venue is unique because it’s devoted to jazz music. From piano bar happy hours to nightly performances by touring acts from all over, Little Room Jazz Club offers constant entertainment to music-loving travelers.

Blue Heaven

Outdoor dining amidst tropical canopies, and self-described “whimsical decor”—i.e. a leopard-spotted mannequin and painted coconuts—Blue Heaven offers music lovers a vibrant, intimate space to enjoy live musical performances, food, and drinks. Blue Heaven attracts fantastic acts, which you can enjoy with hits from its acclaimed breakfast, dinner, dessert, and wine menus.

Sloppy Joe’s

Sloppy Joe’s is arguably the most well-known bar in the area, and as a result, it maintains a sizable, lively crowd on most given nights. With the stage right next to the bar area, it hosts live music acts from the surrounding areas and beyond from as early as 10 am to 10 pm every day of the week.

The Key West Amphitheater, or Coffee Butler Amphitheater

Near Fort Zachary at the Truman Waterfront, this gorgeous local amphitheater features assigned seating and a general admission lawn where you can dance or set up a blanket, if the show is calm enough. This spring you can catch the Key West Songwriters Festival here from May 3rd through the 7th.

RockHouse Live Key West

Just a minute walk from Sloppy Joe’s, RockHouse Live features a variety of musical acts, including some acoustic and unplugged shows out on its breezy patio. For a more easygoing evening that still features live music, this is a good destination, especially with its delicious variety of burgers, sandwiches, and apps.

Key West Theater

A proper, indoor theater, this was named the Best Performing Arts Venue in 2022 by the Key West People’s Choice Awards. Come here for a sizable stage, and bigger-name acts coming through town. This spring you can catch musicians from the Key West Songwriters Festival here throughout May, and Nick Norman with Jason Lamson on May 28th.
