Native Plants at Parrot Key

Parrot Key is a haven to hundreds of native plant species, and now you can view them by name with botanical tags.

Ecologists have shown that native plants, or those indigenous to a specific place, will further support local wildlife, such as  bees, butterflies, amphibians, reptiles, and mammals. Native plants feed the creatures at the bottom of the food web that then provide meals for creatures on the next ring of the web, and keep a balanced ecosystem.

Discover Key West’s native plants during your stay, and have your mini-explorers participate in our kids Scavenger Hunt available at The Grove Restaurant & Bar. While you’re there, be sure to ask your bartender about our special beverages like the Bird of Paradise. Before you depart, be sure to visit our lobby retail shop  to learn more about the benefits of planting native species in your area, and take home a souvenir. Become eco-curious about your surroundings and how you can help make them flourish!
